Not only for a rainy day: Salzburg’s art treasures
As a cultural city, Salzburg has a lot to offer for cultural holidaymakers. In some 50 galleries and museums everything can be found from paintings to photography, from classics to modernity. The central facility of local artists is the Salzburg Art Association in the artist exchange, the trade association of fine arts and the international summer academy.
The graphic workshop in the Traklhaus, the 5020 gallery, the Thaddaeus Ropac gallery, Budja gallery or the Eboran gallery are also important contact points. Of course there are also numerous private selling galleries, especially in Salzburg’s old city. The Mozart city also has numerous museums of various sizes and topical focus: Whether it’s the city’s largest museum, the Carolino Augusteum, the museum of modernity on Mönchsberg, the baroque museum, the Haus der Natur, the Rupertinum, the Residenz gallery, the Dom museum, the Rainer-Regiment museum, the museum of costume or the sound and film museum in Mozart’s house, there is something for everybody.
