During the "quiet season " Mozart's city reveals its many different yet always enchanting facets.
It is the season for a romantic walk across the city's hilltops, affording a breathtaking view of the city's snow-covered roofs, domes and towers. The pealing of countless church bells reminds us that Christmas is near. After descending back down to the city, the merry bustling on the Salzburg Christmas Market fills us with a cozy, warm feeling and wakes fond childhood memories. The smell of punch and toasted almonds, hot roasted chestnuts and freshly baked apples envelopes our noses; the vendors' gingerbread hearts, Nativity figures, Christmas tree ornaments, toys and warm pullovers are irresistable.

Program of events such as choral singing in front of the Cathedral, "Turmblasen" (wind instruments) on Residenz Square each Saturday, Nativity exhibits in the Residenz courtyard, and much more.
