Hohenwerfen Event Castle
Mediaeval destination in the Salzburg region
The impressive fortified castle from the 11th century was not only the scenery for many films but also provides an appropriate location for festivals and events.
Numerous entertainment and cultural events await the visitor at Werfen castle: Guided tours with a visit to the exhibition of weapons, a rustic castle tavern with food of the knights, the historic Landesfalkenhof with daily hawk flight shows, the 1st Austrian hawk museum and regularly changing special exhibitions.
The castle is accessed via a footpath (approx. 15-minute walk). A lift can be taken straight to the upper inner ward for a surcharge.

From the Friesacher hotel you can reach Hohenwerfen castle in less than 30 minutes by car on the A10, the Tauern motorway. This pleasant excursion is especially nice with children.
