Summer residence and dancing fountains in Salzburg
An architectural jewel on the southern border of the Mozart city of Salzburg: Prince bishop Markus Sittikus has a summer residence built at the foot of the water-rich Hellbrunn mountain, Hellbrunn Palace, in 1615.
Hellbrunn was not to rank behind its southern models in glamour and spaciousness. With its baroque park, the orangery and the delightful month palace on Hellbrunn mountain, Hellbrunn is one of the grandest renaissance buildings north of the Alps.
Unique throughout the world are Hellbrunn’s dancing fountains, a baroque predecessor of today’s entertainment parks.
